Los Angeles, Mar 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After 20 years of trying, actress Elizabeth Banks has finally become a mother. She tweeted that she and her husband Max Handelman have welcomed their son born through gestational surrogate. The highly delighted Elizabeth made the announcement on Wednesday.

The baby has been named Felix and Elizabeth gave some insight into the name. She explained in her tweet that Felix is a Latin name meaning ‘happy’ and ‘lucky’.

Elizabeth sent several tweets including, “What’s greater than overjoyed? Megajoyed? Add humility, love, awe. Sprinkle w cute. Result: my new life as a mom. It’s a boy!” She later added that, “Felix means ‘happy’ and ‘lucky’ in Latin. And true to his name, Felix is a very happy baby and a blessing on our life.”

When all options in getting a child seemed not working, Elizabeth and Handelman decided to opt for gestational surrogacy. Doctors fertilized Elizabeth’s egg with the sperm of Handelman and planted the fetus in another woman. That woman carried the baby until delivery.

Elizabeth was over-excited after she became a mother. Her last tweet was that anyone who would be looking for her should realize that she is changing a diaper.
