October 8, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Jisshu Sengupta, Rudranil Ghosh and Kanchan Mallick have come together to play the three lead characters in the film ‘Ektu Onnyorokom’. We caught up with the film crew while they were shooting for a song sequence. The trio seemed to be having a lot of fun on the sets and their real life friendship has translated into an on-screen camaraderie, which gives the film a special touch!

Debutante director Neel Mukhopadhyay said that he wanted his actors to be friends in real life as well. That is the reason why he had casted Jisshu, Rudranil and Kanchan for the roles. The film is about three friends who come to Kolkata to make their dreams come true. Jisshu wants to become a successful actor, Rudranil a painter and Kanchan has political aspirations. The three friends live together and love ogling at the models living next door. The movie is a light-hearted comedy and will surely make you come out of the hall with a smile on your face.

Ektu Onnyorokom marks Rudranil’s debut as a scriptwriter, who has co-written the script with Paddanava Dasgupta. Neel Mukherjee got the chance to direct this film only after Prabhat Roy passed it off. The debutant director considers himself lucky for bagging such an interesting film.
