‘Ekti Tarar Khonje’ To Release On June 25

June 12, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bengali films have come a long way in terms of exposure. Now, many of the films are being sent to the international film festivals before they are released in India. Three time National Award winning cinematographer, Avik Mukhopadhyay’s latest flick Ekti Tarar Khonje is one such film, which is getting overseas exposure, even though it has not been screened in any of the film festivals.
Washington Bangla Radio, has taken the movie to North America via its associates. The non-resident Indians and Bengalis there can rent, download or watch the film online for free courtesy Netflix’s one-month offer.
In fact, “Screenplay films’ has released the theatrical promo-preview trailer of the forthcoming movie online, which can also be watched free via Google’s You Tube video service.
The film Ekti Tarar Khonje is produced by Indrani Mukerjee, Jeet Banerjee and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the National Award winning producers of Antaheen and Anuranan.
The film is supposed to be a “new-age romantic thriller”, which is set to release in Kolkata theaters on June 25.
Shayan Munshi and Arpita Chatterjee are playing the lead role in the film. Tanusree Shankar, Dhritiman Chaterjee, Rudranil Ghosh, Dibyendu, Biplab Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Arindam Sil, Arijit Dutta, Anindya and others form the supporting cast.
The songs are penned by Chandril and Anindya and the music is composed by Prabuddha Banerjee.
