“Education Nation” Summit To Be Aired On NBC

Sep 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) An education oriented summit has been organized in the New York City, that would aim to address the future aspects of American education. This two days event has been organized by NBC under the name of “Education Nation”. The week-long program will carry out an interactive summit of two days, at Rockefeller Plaza, New York. NBC News will also air the special coverage and programming that across all its channel platforms for the entire week, from 8 PM to 8:30 PM from Sep 27 onwards. The opening episode of the program will include the President Obama’s live uninterrupted interview with Matt Lauer, in the program “Today Show”.
The Summit at Rockefeller Plaza, will invite a number of educationists, Parents, teachers, politicians and students. Some of the renowned personalities, who will be part of the show are an Golston, president of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; Geoffrey Canada, CEO of the Harlem Children’s Zone Project; Michelle Rhee, the Schools Chancellor of Washington, D.C.;Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers; All Dennis Van Roekel, president of the National Education Association and Brian Jones, a senior New York city teacher. The summit and the interactive discussions will be moderated by Brian Williams.
The main reason to organize such an event was to formulate new ways of improving the American education system. It has been studied that America ranks 25th in math and 21st in science, when compared to other developing nations. NBC News President Steve Capus says, that this endeavor will help in making the education production much better with the state and also in the world ranking.
