Eddie Vedder to go on tour

Los Angeles, May 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Eddie Vedder has announced that he is going on a tour to promote his solo “Ukulele Songs” and the DVD “Water on the Road.”

Eddie released the album today (31st of May 2011). The album is the compilation of the various ukulele songs which were released by the singer over the years. In an interview, Eddie spoke about how he came about with the ukulele.

He said that, “I’ll never forget. We were sitting around a campfire late at night… There were a couple of musicians in the group; a Brazilian guitarist, and then me… and this fisherman, his name was Eddie… He (Eddie) picked up the ukulele. His hands were so big it was hard to imagine he could get chords out of it. And he played the most beautiful rendition of ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.’ Elvis.”

To Eddie, ukulele has the potential to transform how listeners will perceive their songs. He said the ukulele has an emotional feeling attached to it and he has developed a personal relationship with it over the years. Speaking about his tour, Eddie said he is hoping that his fans will get to sing along the tune as he plays on.
