Dec.30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Noted American singer and composer Eddie Vedder has been slapped with a lawsuit by Gordon Peterson. The Pearl Jam singer recorded Hard Sun in 2007, which was originally composed by Gordon Peterson 20 years back. The tune recorded by Eddie Vedder was meant for a Sean Penn film that struck gold at the box office. However, Gordon Peterson was not happy with the version rendered by Eddie Vedder. He alleged that the singer had made unacceptable changes to his lyrics. Thereafter he sued the singer and filed his allegation at the Manhattan federal court in New York. He wrote is his complaint that the singer had made changes that hampered the integrity of the artwork. Gordon Peterson sued Universal Music Group along with Eddie Vedder.

However, the lawyer representing Eddie Vedder said in his statement that the copyright infringement allegation was baseless. He also said that the singer is waiting for the verdict of the court. Eddie Vedder is known as a singer-songwriter associated with Pearl Jam, an American rock band. He plays guitar and also works as its lead vocalist. Earlier in his career, he was involved with rock music in Southern California.

He joined Pearl Jam after shifting his base to Washington in the early 90s. There, his fame as a music artist shot upwards. His unique golden baritone style has earned him accolades. He is considered as a pioneer in the sphere of alternative rock music. In his illustrious career, Eddie Vedder has also worked with other leading artists for albums and various other compositions.
