Eddie Fisher Bids Adieu To The World At 82

Sep 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Eddie Fisher who was a popular singer of yesteryears passed away this week at the age of 82. He was very popular in the 1950s. Sources close to his family said that the singer passed away after suffering complications from his hip surgery. The singer died in California at his home. He was popular not only for hi songs but also for his TV show. However, his fame as an artist was eclipsed by his marriages to some of the prominent celebrities including Elizabeth Taylor, Connie Stevens and Debbie Reynolds. All of these marriages ended in divorce. He married twice after these high profile marriages which also made headlines. He admitted in his autobiography that he was more known for his linkups and break ups than his work.
He also dabbled with movies and his roles in films like Butterfield 8 and Bundle of Joy are still remembered by his fans. Two of his kids Joely Fisher and Carrie Fisher also took up acting as the career. He also made it to the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his stints in both TV and movies which is an achievement. The family expressed grief to the media after the demise of the music star of yesterday. He had a huge fan following and teenagers fell in love with his image for his dramatic voice in his heyday.
In the 1960s and later Eddie Fisher’s name got involved in his marriage and breakup related scandals and this continued till the end of his career. He has left behind four children and six grandchildren. His daughter Carrie Fisher who is an actress earlier wrote in Twitter about the failing health of her father.
