Ed McMahon,85, the former “Tonight Show” announcer is in serious condition at a California hospital. one of McMahon’s medical problems is pneumonia.
Best known for being Johnny Carson’s sidekick on the “Tonight Show” for three decades. Recently he has been in the news for his troubles keeping up with payments on his California mansion.
McMahon, 85, has been hospitalized for nearly a month for “pneumonia and other medical problems,” a person close to the entertainer told TMZ.com. McMahon’s hospitalization follows a difficult year for the veteran TV celebrity, most famous for his nightly “Heeeeeeere’s Johnny!” introduction of Carson for 30 years and for his hosting the TV talent show “Star Search.”
McMahon was defaulted on a $4.8 million mortgage on his six-bedroom Beverly Hills mansion and later found a buyer for the house to avoid foreclosure.
