Economic meltdown hits ‘Desperate Housewives’
October 27th, 2008 - 11:57 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Oct 27 (IANS) The market meltdown has taken its toll on American television comedy-drama series “Desperate Housewives” - with strict spending guidelines being introduced for the stars’ wardrobes. US network ABC has issued new rules saying no more than $150 (92 pounds) can be spent on accessories and no more than $250 (153 pounds) on a pair of shoes for the cast, reports thesun.co.uk.
“Everyone is looking at costs and there are guidelines for every single department,” said a spokeswoman for the network.
The show started its fifth series Wednesday night.
