EastEnders casts Dot Branning’s sister
May 27th, 2011 - 9:55 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, May 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Polly Perkins has been added to the cast of the show EastEnders. In the British series, she will play the role of the sister of Dot Branning.
Whats ON TV quoted the actress as saying that, “I am thrilled to be joining the cast of EastEnders, the show is a real British institution with an extraordinary creative team. I’m really looking forward to working with June again, who I have been friends with for over 30 years.”
The website revealed the plot of the show. Polly will play the role of Rose who is a sister of Dot. The sisters have not talked for a long time because Rose had an affair with Dot’s former husband Charlie Cotton. In the series, Dot will eventually decide to contact Rose to ensure peace. Rose was not as eager as Dot to bury the hatchet.
Polly’s character will be the younger sister of Dot and her lifestyle is expected to be similar to that of Dot.
This is not the first time that Polly will be playing in a television show. In the 1990s, Polly was part of the soap Eldorado. Polly played the role of Trish Valentine in the series.
