London, June 1 (ANI): Dustin Hoffman has said that he always wonders why he and Barbra Streisand never got hitched despite constantly crossing paths since they were young.

The Hollywood star has been happily married for 28 years with lawyer Lisa Gottsegen and the couple has four children, while the legendary singer has long been married to actor James Brolin.

In a recent interview, ‘The Graduate’ actor recalled bumping into Streisand when he was a young apprentice and from then on crossing paths.

“When I started studying acting in New York , I was on what was called a work scholarship. And the only other person on the work scholarship was Barbra Streisand,” the Daily express quoted Dustin, 71, as telling Saga magazine.

He added: “That’s where we met and we never really became friends but years would pass and we’d bump into each other. Then finally, we’re both cast in the same movie (2004 comedy Meet The Fockers) as a married couple. On the first day of shooting I said to her, ‘Why didn’t you and I ever get married?’ She just looked at me and without missing a beat, she said, ‘Because we would have killed each other’.” (ANI)
