dustinAug 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Highly-acclaimed actor Dustin Hoffman would be seen in the upcoming sequel of the romantic comedy “Meet The Fockers” franchise after the makers of the hit series were successful in convincing the “Kramer vs. Kramer” star. Although the noted actor was approached by the producers of the franchise earlier on to play a pivotal role in the third installment of the romantic comedy series, the talks failed to yield any results as a deal could not reached between them. According to reports, Dustin Hoffman agreed to be associated with the sequel “Little Fockers” after Jay Roach, who is the director of the previous two segments was able to convince the veteran actor.

Despite the fact that the filming of the third installment of the “Meet The Fockers” franchise has almost been wrapped up, the role that Dustin Hoffman is supposed to play was written back and the filming is likely to take place over the next month in a series of re-shoots. In the upcoming sequel of “Little Fockers,” the 73-year-old actor would be edging the character of Bernie Focker who is the father of the role played by Ben Stiller.

In the meanwhile, sources have added that one of the main reasons due to which the makers decided to convince Dustin Hoffman to again star in the franchise was because they indeed to make each installment better than the previous ones while adding that is was ‘an investment in the future of the franchise.’ The earlier two releases in the franchise “Meet the Parents” and “Meet the Fockers” were massive hits grossing up to $445 million at the United States box office.
