June 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Sanjay Sharma directed Bollywood film Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyon, has been selected for being screened at the iView New York Film Festival in September 2010. Recently, the film was screened at the closing ceremony of Kashish’s Mumbai Queer International Film Festival too. It was chosen among other 110 films from all over the world and received a standing ovation there as well.

Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyon deals with the sensitive topic of homosexuality but it portrays other relations as well. The selection committee of the festival has the New York based Indian film director and producer Mira Nair as a member.

The story of the film revolves around a struggling model, who comes to Mumbai in order to have a bright career and fame. But, gets involved in an intimate relationship with another male partner.

Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyon is scheduled to release in India in August 2010.

The “Engendered’ organization, which concentrates on human, women and gender issues, is supporting the iView New York Film Festival.

Last year also, the iView film festival, opened with Karan Johar’s movie Dostana, which deals with homosexuality in a humorous manner.

We hope Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyon is able to place the sensitive issue in a very appropriate way i.e. without hurting anyone’s sentiment!
