Dujone Likely To Claim The National Award!

August 7, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Rajiv Kumar’s directorial debut movie Dujone has been reportedly recommended for the National Award, the most prominent award in India.

The Bengali blockbuster produced by Ashok Dhanuka and Himanshu Dhanuka, has actors Dev and Srabanti in the lead roles. Dujone is a commercial romantic film, which has music by Jeet Ganguly.

Confirming the news, producer Ashok Dhanuka said, “The Film Federation of India sent me a fax saying that it has decided to recommend Dujone for the prestigious National Award in the category of “Best Film’ that offers wholesome entertainment.”

Dhanuka added, “Biplab Chakraborty, the chairman, producer section of EIMPA called me to inform that in the regional commercial film category, Dujone has been selected from Eastern India. I was surprised and could not believe my ears.”

On the other hand, the director Rajiv Kumar had no idea about it. He said, “I was congratulated first by the dresser Shibu Das. I did not have any idea why he was congratulating me. He gave me the good news.” An elated Rajiv, added, “I have no words to express my feelings.”

Lead actress Shrabanti, who also happens to be the wife of director Rajiv, said, “My husband is the director of the film and a national recognition for his first film is the biggest reward I can wish for.”

The lead actor Dev too was surprised by the news. He said, “I received a congratulatory call from Rajiv when I had just woken up. The cup slipped from my hands on hearing the news and therefore, got scolded by my mom. I feel honored.”

If the movie manages to fetch the award, a grand celebration can be expected in the industry!
