Duhamel raises $1 mn for flood-hit hometown
September 6th, 2011 - 5:03 am ICT by IANSLondon, Sep 6 (IANS) Actor Josh Duhamel and his wife Fergie’s band the Black Eyed Peas have raised $1 million through a benefit concert for flood-hit hometown Minot in North Dakota.
The actor organised a benefit concert to help rebuild his hometown after severe flooding damaged over 4,000 homes and made 11,000 residents flee their properties.
The Minot Rising concert was attended by around 16,000 fans at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds, where Fergie paid tribute to residents for their bravery.
“This is a beautiful, beautiful vision for us, especially for me because I have family here now … It might be small, but it has the biggest heart in America. North Dakota, we love you so much!” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Fergie as saying.
