Drew Carey and his weight loss on GMA

drew-carey It seems like every one in Hollywood has been on a diet at one time or another. Beyonce lost weight on the lemon honey diet while preparing for the movie Dream Girls. The latest Hollywood stars to grace the headlines for their weight loss is Jenifer Hudson, and Drew Carey who lost a total of eighty pounds.

What are these celebrities doing to shed the pounds so quickly? Actress Sarah Rue who lost fifty pounds by hitting the payment everyday and dropped four dress sizes. She explains, “ If I can do this I feel anybody can do this”, she also goes on to say it did not happen over night “ For eights months I was on the Jenny Craig program.” Struggling with weight issues for so long she was determined to make this plan work.

Drew Carey cut all junk food out and ate healthier dropping eighty pounds; his new measurement is a size 33 nine inches less then his previous size of 42. He replaced his daily drinking of sodas with juice and stopped eating bread, replacing it with fruits, and vegetables. His morning breakfast is egg whites. A health scare in 2001 was a wake up call for Carey when he under went open heart surgery to repair a blocked artery.

Jennifer Hudson went for a size sixteen to a size six on the weight watchers plan. In her weight watchers commercials she says “I have never been this size in my life.” An exercise routine after her baby was born in 2009 was also a contributing factor for her weight loss.

Keri Glassman, RD. Good Morning America’s women’s health contributor for the morning show explains how the average person can lose weight simply by eating healthy. Each person is different in what works for them in a weight loss plan. Portion control and frozen meal plans can work for the disciplined personalities, others may need a more aggressive approach to get them motivated to begin the weight lose, plan and then to keep the weight off. Keri mentions also to examine your life to see where and when you can add exercise as part of a weight loss plan. Glassman does not want the individual to completely change their lifestyle this is a sure way of not sticking with the weight lose plan.
