Dr. Oz Talks About His Cancer Scare

Sep 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “The Dr. Oz Show” host Dr. Mehmet Cengiz Oz is a Turkish-American cardiothoracic surgeon and author. The talk show host who discusses about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, went in for a routine check up several days ago and his doctor found out an adenomatous polyp and the doctor said that if this polyp would have gone undetected then it could have turned into a colon cancer. Dr. Oz in one of his recent interviews said that it was a shake up for him as he has done everything right in his life and he does not have any family history of this dangerous disease as well.
The host of “The Dr. Oz Show” said that he is on a high risk now, though the doctor has removed the polyp and he will have a follow up exam in three months. The doctor in his interview to a reputed media source said that the only thing that is holding himself back to life is his “luck” as he went in for a check up in one of his shows. The doctor said that this check up saved his life. CBS News medical correspondent Dr. Jonathan LaPook performed a routine colonoscopy on Dr. Mehmet Oz several few weeks ago and the whole procedure was filmed for “The Dr. Oz Show”. Dr. Jonathan LaPook after his check up found out the polyp.
Dr. Mehmet Oz said that this experience forced him to question his assumptions he made about his life. The doctor always prided himself on living a healthy life style but this experience was a wake up call for him. Dr. Jonathan LaPook said that D. Mehmet Oz’s healthy lifestyle have protected him from having a bigger polyp.
