Sep 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Though hard to imagine, but doctors fall sick too. Dr. Oz, considered as the ultimate health guru has revealed that he recently had a cancer scare around his 50th birthday. The best selling author and host of a healthy lifestyle talk show revealed that a precancerous growth was detected in his colon by the doctors. He added that though the growth was removed, he has been asked to recheck in three months. He called it a ‘wake up call’ for him and something that completely shook him up.

Dr.Oz revealed that the news of the precancerous growth completely shocked him as he has no history of the disease in his family. He also felt that he did everything right and said that such incidents forces one to rethink the assumptions that one makes about life. The renowned doctor and TV personality has added that he is a high risk patient now. He said that it was dumb luck that he got himself checked and this resulted in almost saving his life.

Dr.Oz has said that his cancer scare can also be an important sign for his fans. He said that he felt frustrated and tensed about the thing especially because he has been extremely health conscious over the years. Reports suggest that he turned to Oprah Winfrey to share his troubles and he has revealed that she reacted by saying that she does not care about the details and all she cares about is him being alright. He will be seen talking more about the scare on his next episode of ‘Dr.Oz’ which airs on September 7.
