DQ Entertainment honors J.K Rowling
October 23rd, 2009 - 1:58 pm ICT by Sampurn WireDQ Entertainment (DQE), a subsidiary of DQ Entertainment (International) Limited, one of the leading producers of animation, visual effects, game art and entertainment content for the Indian as well as global media and entertainment industry which had instituted “The Lifetime Achievement Award” last year, has awarded “the 2009 Life Time Achievement Award” to J.K. Rowling for her outstanding contribution towards children entertainment. J.K Rowling is the author and creator of the Harry Potter fantasy series.
The esteemed juries were almost unanimous in their choice of J.K. Rowling- who has inspired the minds of millions of people around the world, and has given rise to a whole new generation of young readers. The Potter books have gained worldwide attention; won multiple awards, sold more than 400 million copies and a string of films have been produced based on the series.
Mr. Josh Berger, President and MD Warner Brothers Entertainment UK received the Award on behalf of J.K. Rowling.
DQ Entertainment had instituted The Lifetime Achievement Award last year at the Cannes Film Festival “MIPCOM 2008″ to be presented annually to artists who during their lifetime have made creative contribution of outstanding significance to entertainment that goes beyond cultural, linguistic and other boundaries. The recipient of the award is selected by an eminent jury comprising leading broadcasters, producers and senior journalists from the media and entertainment industry. The 2008 DQE Lifetime Achievement Award was posthumously awarded to Rene Goscinny in recognition of his contribution towards children entertainment. Rene Goscinny is the creator of characters like “Le Petit Nicolas’ “Asterix’ and “Lucky Luke’.
