Download a song, educate a girl child!
May 6th, 2012 - 8:31 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, May 6 (IANS) Shekhar Ravjiani of the composer duo Vishal-Shekhar has sung his first Marathi single “Saazni” and says that the revenue from downloads of the song will help in educating the girl child.
“The revenue from downloads of Saazni will go towards girl child education. I wanted to do this since a very long time,” Shekhar tweeted.
“Lack of education and poverty forces many adults to abandon their child, especially a girl child at a very tender age. Such children find a home in (NGO) Maniketan, located in Thane,” he further tweeted.
The song is available on www.hungama.com and the proceeds from the song will go to Ma-Niketan, an NGO that works towards the education of the girl child.
