Doritos ad is a hit during Super Bowl Commercial 2012

New York, Feb 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Doritos claimed the Brand Bowl 2012 honor with its dog bribing ad. The add proved popular on the social media after it was aired during the Super Bowl last Sunday.

To come out with the best ad for the Super Bowl, the Super Brand monitored the popularity of the various ads on Twitter. There were about 400,000 comments on the various ads which were aired during the Super Bowl.

According to the officials, 48.498 of the tweets were on the ad from Doritos. 29 percent of the comments on the ad were considered positive. With that, the ad became the most popular of all the ads which were shown on the screens.

H&M’s ad, featuring David Beckham, came in at the second position. Chrysler’s advert featuring Clint Eastwood came in the third position.

The Super Brand is the brainchild of Mullen and Boston.com. Mullen’s Edward Boches explained that, “With nearly 200 million people on Twitter and two-thirds of all smartphone owners using social media while watching TV, just about every brand built interactive elements into their commercials, knowing that the true measurement of success these days is immediate consumer reaction and long-term consumer engagement.”

During the Super Bowl, the companies paid an average of $3.5 million to have a 30-second ad slot. An estimated global audience of more than 100 million watched the Super Bowl last Sunday.
