Donald Jay, a.k.a “Don” Rickles, the world’s most loved outrageous comic actor and author, will be awarded with the Legend Award at “The 2009 TV Land Awards”. The announcement was made by Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land, on 31st of March. The most popular candidates of Legend Award are entertainers who have wooed the common public for generations with their ground breaking performances.
Don Rickles truly deserves this award. The “The 2009 TV Land Awards” will be held at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City and the stalwart of comedy will receive his award on 19th of April. With his characteristic humor Don Rickles’ commented that he felt honored because at last “TV Land has finally woken up” and selected him to be the recipient of the award. The previous recipients of the award include “Cheers”, “The Carol Burnett Show”, “The Dick Van Dyke Show”, Garry Marshall, and more of their likes.
