Doherty’s blood portrait on sale

London, Feb 20 (IANS) A bloody self-portrait of British rocker Pete Doherty is up for sale at $37,500.The macabre sketch was created by The Libertines star in 2010 for a fan called Alistair using his own blood, reports contactmusic.com.
The devotee approached Doherty backstage at a concert and asked the rock star if he could help him make some money. Doherty offered to paint something for him.
A week later, the blood portrait - signed “For Alistair, love Peter” - arrived through the post.
Bosses at Paul Fraser collectibles will handle the sale.
