Doherty submits artwork painted in his own blood to kids exhibition
July 4th, 2008 - 12:02 am ICT by ANILondon , July 3 (ANI): Pete Doherty shocked organisers of an art exhibition by submitting a picture of his band drawn in his own blood.
The organisers of the art exhibition for kids had asked the Babyshambles frontman to contribute towards the show, but they never realised the extent to which his help would go.
Even though the painting has stunned the organisers, the We Love Marlborough arts and culture group has decided to include the picture in the exhibition.
We cant think we will get many postcards painted in blood, not unless one of the children had a nosebleed while doing theirs, the Sun quoted them, as saying.
Earlier, Dohertys paintings had sparked outrage among anti-drugs campaigners, as the artworks were made with drug needles and the rocker’s own blood.
When his work was exhibited, Doherty was widely condemned by anti-drugs groups for glamorising the use of illegal substances in his artwork. (ANI)
