London, March 7 (ANI): Dizzee Rascal is set to pen memoirs, which will “lift the lid” on his troubled life.

The Dance Wiv Me singer has signed a book deal and the tome has been given the provisional title of The Dizzee Rascal Story.

Canongate Books and the newly-established publishing arm of the Dizzee’s independent record label Dirtee Stank Recordings have teamed up for the book deal.

The 24-year-old rapper grew up on a council estate in Bow, east London and was expelled from four schools in four years.

“The Dizzee Rascal Story will provide a much more intimate insight into the real story behind the charismatic young artist. From the family secrets that defined his troubled upbringing, to the truth about the near-fatal multiple stabbing that almost ended his career just as it was beginning, this riveting memoir will lift the lid on a life lived at a break-neck pace,” the Mirror quoted a spokeswoman for Canongate, as saying.

Journalist Ben Thompson is the co-author of the book.

The book is slated to be published in October 2010. (ANI)
