The upcoming Peter Jackson venture of “District 9” promises to be one sci-fi movie that the viewers won’t get to forget easily. If the trailers of the movie are anything to go by, there can be no doubt in anyone’s mind that the movie will wow the audience considerably. Though sci-fi movies have become a daily part of the deal in Hollywood, Neill Blomkamp, the director of “District 9″ swears by the fact that the movie has a very different prerogative to highlight. Well, it’s just a matter of wait and watch now since the judgment day for the movie is looming close at hand.

The storyline of “District 9″ is based on the concept of (forever predicted in Hollywood ventures) the inter galactic clash between man and an alien race (in this flick, the aliens are set to resemble giant prawns), with the catch here being that the alien turns out to the good guys. They become the ones who get tortured and traumatized by the mankind.

The plot focuses around the incidents that take place in the human world around 22 years ago, when a giant, alien mother-ship is found hovering over earth one fine day (the period is set to be in the 1980s). The aliens are captured and brought away from their ship, in an operation that is undertaken by man called Wikas (Sharlto Copley). While supervising the evacuation, Wikas gets affected by an alien serum that starts to mutate his DNA and turn him in to an alien. That is what the plot pursues as well as the underhand dealings of the men who come in possession of the alien warfare, seeking personal gains.
