Disney’s Muppets Adaptation To Star Ricky Gervais?

Dec 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to the latest reports, Ricky Gervais is all set to join the cast of the new movie adaptation of ‘The Muppets’ along with actress Emily Blunt. The reports suggest that both of them will be seen in cameos in the upcoming Disney venture. The original work of Jim Henson will be directed by James Bobin. The script has been composed by Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller. The film also has actors like Amy Adams, Rashida Jones and Chris Cooper. Ace action star Jean-Claude Van Damme will also be seen in a cameo. The film is likely to be released in Christmas of next year. The fans of Lady Gaga may be delighted to know that she is being approached to be a part of the movie. However, the news is yet to be confirmed.
The association of Lady Gaga with ‘Muppets’ is not new though. She earlier kissed ‘Kermit the Frog’ while attending an awards ceremony. Meanwhile, actor Ricky Gervais who is best known for his performance in ‘The Office’ has said in an interview that the new role has taken him by amazement and he is happy to get the cameo role. Steven Seagal is reportedly essaying the role of a man who takes the help of muppets to come up with a show to salvage a studio from the greed of an evil minded baron. Chris Cooper is going to essay the villainous role.
The rumors also suggest that the cameo list will also include actor Zach Galifianakis. However, the ‘Due Date’ actor has not said anything about his inclusion in the cast of this movie.
