Disney: ‘Toy Story 3′ is now the highest grossing animated movie of all times

Los Angeles, Aug 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The animated movie - “Toy Story 3″ has become the highest grossing animated movie ever. The movie has grossed almost a billion dollars in revenue since it was released last month. These figures are according to Disney. This is the third series on the movie that has come to be loved by many. Despite being an animated movie, Toy Story series has been loved by the young and the old alike.
Before becoming the highest grossing animated movie ever, ‘Shrek 2′ held that position as the highest grossing animated movie ever.
The movie, which grossed over $920 million from box offices all around the world, has become the fourth biggest grossing movie ever by the renowned entertainment outfit, Disney. The movie only rank low to great Disney movies like “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” ($ 1.07 billion), “Alice in Wonderland” ($1.02 billion) and “Pirates of the Caribbean: At world’s End” which grossed a whooping $961 million.
The ‘Toy Story’ movies have been relatively successful since the characters were introduced in 1995 by Pixar. The first and second editions of the movie both grossed over $300 million in box office. Disney fully bought Pixar in January 2006 for an amount of $7.4 billion in stocks.
