disneyOct 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Disney will now have control over the distribution rights of “Iron Man 3″ and “Avenger”. Disney has brought the distribution rights of the films for $115 million, an amount which is been seen by some as too small for such a good deal. Disney acquired Marvel Entertainment last year and speculations are high that this could be one of the possible reasons that the former getting the edge over Paramount regarding distribution rights. Some reports suggest that Paramount Pictures had been financially low since last year and hence they have transferred the rights to Disney. The actual reason is yet to be known though. The “Avengers” are due to arrive in theaters on May 4, 2012, while “Iron man 3″ is slated to release on May 3, 2013.

Apparently Paramount Pictures have not cited any major reason for selling off their distribution rights to Disney. Reports suggest that Paramount Pictures will still remain the distributor of their upcoming films “Thor” and “Captain America”. The movies are reportedly slated to release next year. Marvel Worldwide have reportedly said that “this agreement makes sense now that Marvel is part of The Walt Disney Company”.

Walt Disney has reportedly said that they appreciate the tremendous momentum established by Paramount with the iconic Marvel characters and that they are looking forward towards propelling the brand even further in the coming years. Paramount has said that they had a wonderful partnership with Marvel all these years and are proud of it. As for the deal it is the right agreement for all of them i.e. Paramount, Marvel and Disney. They also wished Marvel and Walt Disney to have a successful partnership.
