dinosharkMar 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The lovers of monster flicks should stay tuned to their TV sets today as SyFy is going to show a movie made by Roger Corman, the cult filmmaker, called ‘Dinoshark’. As evident from its name the film deals with a prehistoric savage shark wreaking havoc with the resort area depicted in the film. The filmmaker earlier became famous for monster based flicks like “Teenage Cave Men,” “House of Usher,” “DinoCroc” etc. It will be shown at 9 p.m on Saturday on SyFy.

In this film, a Mexican beach area, which is a favorite destination of the tourists is ravaged by a strange marine creature. However, a boat captain is the only one who believes that the creature actually exists. He takes on the task to thwart the assaults of the creature. The role of the boat captain has been depicted by ace actor Eric Balfour who won rave reviews for his gritty act in the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” a cult slasher film.

In an interview given recently, the filmmaker spoke at length about the making of this monster movie. He said that the success of his previous monster flick ‘DinoCroc’ inspired him to come up with another such movie. The Dinoshark is 30 feet long and a massive creature as has been shown in the movie. However, it has larger jaws compared to the present generation sharks with a hint of dinosaur-like teeth and facial structure blended. The action scenes in the movie are spectacular and the shark is a scene stealer for sure, as the images available in the web suggest.
