‘Diff’rent Strokes’ star Gary Coleman dead at 42

garycoleman PROVO, UTAH (BNO NEWS) — Former child actor Gary Coleman, who suffered intracranial brain bleeding and was on life support in the intensive care unit of a Utah hospital, passed away at the age of 42 on Friday.

Utah Valley Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Janet Frank confirmed that Coleman died of a brain hemorrhage and said his life support was terminated on Friday morning. Coleman died at approximately 12.05 p.m. MDT.

“Family members and close friends were at his side when life support was terminated,” Frank said.

The actor was taken to a local hospital for treatment after a fall at his Santaquin, Utah home on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, after he was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Coleman was conscious and lucid. Early that afternoon, however, Coleman was ’slipping in and out of consciousness’ and his condition worsened. He was then put on life support which was plugged on Friday morning.

“Family members express their appreciation and gratitude for the support and prayers that have been expressed for Gary and for them,” Frank said.

Gary Coleman was an American actor best known for his role as Arnold Jackson in the 1980s sitcom “Diff’rent Strokes”. Coleman’s character was best known for uttering the phrase, “What’choo talkin’ ’bout Willis?”.
