Los Angeles, Mar 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted” by Jimmy Ruffin was the chosen song by Didi Benami on “American Idol” Season 9’s last Tuesday episode. However, her singing did not impress the judges who voiced their disappointment. Didi Benami who had delivered some good performances in past episodes failed this time as the judges went on to say that her Tuesday night’s performance was not the best.

This week Didi Benami went for something different from her past couple of week’s performance. She sang “What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted” accompanied by a piano which lent the song the needed soft ballad feel. However, her performances were marked with flaws and she got out of melody at some places. After her performance Didi Benami broke into tears and said that the song has always been an emotional one for her. However, her tears did not melt the judges who then lined up some harsh comments for the contestant.

Didi Benami’s attempt at singing “What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted” was called flat by Randy Jackson. He went on to say that he was waiting all through the performance for a single spark but could not find it in her singing. Ellen DeGeneres went on to say that though she loves Didi Benami’s voice, the performance was not the best and added that it was “way-dramatic”. Disappointed judge Kara DioGuardi mentioned that the song was overdone and that Didi Benami is losing her concentration from the singing. However, like every time Simon Cowell was the harshest who said that the singing was old fashioned and off-melody and compared her performance to one at “dancing shows”.
