Washington, Jan 3 (ANI): Hollywood legend Diane Keaton has revealed that she was never prepared to be a mother until she adopted her kids.
The actress says that motherhood has beaten everything from her career to her previous relationships.
The 61-year-old actress said that her desire to have a “strong and substantive” domestic partnership did prolong her decision.
“I wanted to be in a good relationship. Those good relationships that are strong and substantive never happened for me, and that prolonged my indecisiveness,” People quoted Keaton, as telling Ladies’ Home Journal.
The Oscar winner said that she couldnt resist the thought of motherhood and hence adopted daughter Dexter, now 12, in 1996, and then son Duke, who is 7, in 2001.
“Motherhood was not an urge I couldn’t resist, it was more like a thought I’d been thinking for a very long time. So I plunged in,” she said. (ANI)
