Diane Keaton reveals that she was bulimic when she was dating Woody Allen
November 16th, 2011 - 11:29 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Nov 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actress Diane Keaton said she suffered from eating disorder when she was dating filmmaker Woody Allen. The 65-year-old detailed the information in her new book “Then Again,” which was launched on Tuesday (the 15th of November 2011). Keaton played the role of Allen’s love interest in the movie “Annie Hall.”
Keaton picked an Oscar for her performance but she said she had to go through it while suffering from bulimia. She wrote that her meals were often huge and she will often eat a dessert made of “chocolate-covered almonds with a quart-sized bottle of 7Up.”
Keaton has appeared in at least 8 of Allen’s movies. She dated him when she was in her twenties. She wrote that, “Woody didn’t have a clue what I was up to in the privacy of his bathrooms. He did marvel at my remarkable appetite, saying I could really ‘pack it in.’ Ever vigilant and always on the lookout, I made sure he never caught me.”
This is the first time that Keaton is speaking about her eating disorder. She denied any suggestion that she is still suffering from the condition. She said she has completely overcome the condition and does not crave for food like she did in the past.
Allen and Keaton went out in the 1970s.
