michael-c-hall Sep 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Michael C. Hall celebrated his 39th birthday last February, marking a very important milestone in his life.

The “Dexter” star was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in January but he kept the condition a secret, until he completed shooting the fourth season of his hit show.

His father died of another form of cancer, prostate cancer, at the age of 39 years. Hall admitted that since he was 11 years old, he has been wondering if he is going to live past the age to which his father lived.

He is undergoing chemotherapy for his cancer and the star’s wife and co-star on “Dexter” Jennifer Carpenter cried when she got to know of his condition. She found strength in Hall’s own determination to fight the illness and she told the Times that the way Hall kept his condition a secret from the crew on “Dexter” was “impressive”. Hall is back on the “Dexter” set because his cancer now is in remission and he used the show’s hiatus to film another movie, “East Fifth Bliss”. It sure is a busy schedule for someone just hanging onto life.

Hall has passed the 39th year barrier now and the 5th season of “Dexter” is set to air on this Sunday.
