Designer Karl Lagerfeld says no one wants to look at fat models

- Wellington, Oct 12 (ANI): German designer Karl Lagerfeld has come out in defence of the modelling industry under fire for using too-thin models, insisting no one wants to look at chubby women on the runway.
Lagerfeld’s comments came after the popular German women’s magazine Brigitte announced that they would not use professional models for its photo shoots.
“Fat mummies sit there in front of the television with their chip packets and say skinny models are ugly,” the New Zealand Herald quoted Lagerfeld as telling Focus magazine.
He added the world of beautiful clothes was ultimately about “dreams and illusions” and no one really wanted to see overweight women.
In an interview to the Guardian, editor-in-chief of Brigitte said he would stop using professional models next year because he was “fed up” of retouching photos of underweight models to make them look fatter.
Lebert said that he would now use images of “real life” women, who he hoped would come from all walks of life.
“We’re looking for women who have their own identity, whether it be the 18-year-old A-level student, the company chairwoman, the musician, or the footballer,” he said.
German designer John Ribbe told Focus the controversy over stick-thin models on catwalks and in fashion magazines was nothing but hysteria.
“Ninety per cent [of the models] are totally normal, well-proportioned girls - with less fat and more muscles, who also eat pizza and burgers,” he added. (ANI)

Karl, Karl, Karl, do not judge others because you are not the representation of “beauty”. Nobody would like to have posters of you unless your face is not on the picture.
There will always be haters and people who stereotypes others. But eh, that’s life. A stupid person cannot become clever, there is no plastic surgery for the brain. That is so not fair.
As for health, being obese or too skinny is equally not good. One should feel healthy and happy in his or her body. Fat is not only a matter of “eating too much potato chips or pizza”, it is more complex. One should find his or he perfect equilibrium in order to have the perfect weight for his or her health.
Karl, you are a fashion designer, not a nutritionist. Stay at your place and just do not get on other fields that you do not master… Oh! I forgot that you used to be more than “fat”, you were obese… So you know what it is to eat too much “pizza” and “burgers” because in your case, that is what you used to do. What a shame! I thought pizza and burgers were not “healthy” food and still some models are eating them. I understand that you have some bad memories of the times you used to be that “huge” Karl. People probably called you “piggy” or “fatty” behind your back and you could not stand it because you are so sensitive. Poor Karl could not stand for himself. And now, in order to get your revenge, you do the same thing to other people. The difference with other “fat” people (not obese) is that they are beautiful and I bet they will remain beautiful whether they get skinny or not. In your case, skinny or not, you are still… Karl, the person who is less likely to represent human “beauty”.
