Designer Anand Jon Alexander To Be Sentenced Today

Fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander is going to find out on Monday, August 31, what his sentence will be for the charges that have been brought against him.
The 35 year old designer was convicted last year in November and was indicted in 16 sex related charges that involved 7 teenage girls and young women. Most of the girls were aspiring models, whom Anand is said to have lured to Los Angeles.
His victims ranged in age from 14 to 21. It is expected that they will be appearing to speak against him at the court session. Police started investigating the matter when in 2007, a woman had reported that she had been sexually molested by Anand at his apartment.
He awaits his sentence at the Los Angeles Superior Court today. Prosecutors on the case have asked for Anand to be served the maximum penalty imprisonment that is possible under the law. Should it be granted, it would amount up to three terms of about 53 years and six months to life.
According to the prosecution report, Anand is said to have found his victims online. He baited them with his promises of providing them a foothold in the glamorous and glitzy world of modeling. He had lured them with the attractions of photo shoots and modeling work. When his victims fell in his trap, they found themselves being raped or molested at Anand’s Beverly Hills apartment.
Due to his professional success, Anand was featured on the “America’s Next Top Model.” He has even worked with celebrities like hotel heiress Paris Hilton and music icon Mary J. Blige.
