Los Angeles, March 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On CBS’s “60 Minutes” show on Sunday, the guest Derek Paravicini, a savant, left the viewers dumbstruck with his amazing performance. Derek Paravicini appeared to show his extraordinary talent to the world and proved his worth at the end of the show with his amazing capability to play any music that he was asked for by the host Lesley Stahl.
Derek Paravicini like many savants cannot communicate with people verbally or physically, but unlike many other savants Derek Paravicini is one rare person who has an extraordinarily sharp memory. His physical inability does not inhibit him from playing the beautiful notes on Piano. Not only did he play on the piano notes that he has heard once but also he can play music in different style. When requested by Lesley Stahl, he obliged the host by playing all kinds of music starting from Jazz to classical music to pop and even the show tunes which he modified and played in a different style. The pianist can transform any genre of music to another genre and his transition is as smooth, rather than abrupt.
Unfortunately, the master of the art when asked to perform any other function other than playing on the reeds has to struggle with himself to communicate but cannot. When asked by the host Lesley Stahl to raise three fingers and point to the camera all that the Pianist managed to do is, raise his two hands up in the air. However, the Savant Academy has reportedly said that such a savant like Derek Paravicini is rarely found and that there are hardly fifty savants like Derek Paravicini all over the world.
