Dennis Haysbert turns 55

Dennis Haysbert is presently acting in the military drama, “The Unit” on CBS network. He plays the character of Sergent Major Jonas Blane in the series.
The talented actor had had a stint in movies too. He has starred in such movies as “Breach”, “Jarhead” and “Major League”. His other major accomplishment is that he was the voice behind Sam Fisher in Tom Clancy’s “Splinter Cell”. The popular video game series has the voice of Haysbert for Fisher’s character, who is an American spy trained in stealth missions. Haysbert has mostly been linked with Military Channel programs and commercials.
After been on air for four seasons on CBS, “The Unit” has been shelved by the network. The story of “The Unit” is focused centrally on an elite military unit and the lives of their loved ones. The famed director and writer David Mamet is behind the series. The series boasts of such other talented names as Regina Taylor, Audrey Marie Anderson, Robert Patrick, Max Martini, Abby Brammell, Michael Irby, Scott Foley, Demore Barnes, Alyssa Shafer, Danielle Hanratty, Rebecca Pidgeon and Kavita Patil .
The series had made a mid-season debut in the year 2006. The season had a strong viewership rate of 15.5 million. This had assured a second season run. The viewership dropped to 11.1 million in the second season though, and put the drama on an unsteady footing. Down the seasons the viewership rate has been continually declining, reaching a meek 9.15 million mark in the fourth season, an all time low.
