New York, Sept 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Democrats are petitioning for Betty White, the last surviving ‘Golden Girl’ to attend the democratic national convention.

Betty who endorsed President Obama, turned 90 years old this year and the president sent her a long message asking her for her birthday certificate. The republicans had Clint Eastwood at their convention and the Americans are complaining that Clint is painting a bad picture of them.

A website known as change.org has started a campaign asking for Betty to attend the Democratic National Convention in New York. The website also complains of the speech that Clint Eastwood gave at the Republicans convention.

Betty is older than Clint but it seems like she has a lot of fans who think that she can be an asset for the democrats. The speech that Eastwood gave in Tampa caused a lot of speculations as he interviewed president Obama who was invisible. The site that is making the petition is asking for people to support it so that they can see a real Hollywood icon get a political introduction right.

The petition had more than 4600 supporters and the numbers are still going up. The petition might however bear no fruit as Betty’s agents have said that she will be in production of her two shows at the time of the Democratic Party Convention.
