Def Leppard cancels the final leg of their US Tour

Def Leppard Reno, Oct 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The hard rock legends, Def Leppard have canceled the rest of their North American tour, according to the Associated Press.

On their official Web site, the band cites “unforeseen personal matters” as the cause for the cancellation. In all 23 shows in the US and Canada were canceled.The last leg of the tour was to start Oct. 22 in Reno, Nevada, and wrap up Nov. 28 in Beaumont, Texas.

The band said it “agonized over this decision.”
 Before cancellation of the tour, Def Leppard was raking in nearly $700,000 for a show. 


However, fans need not worry about their already purchased tickets. That is being taken care off, through refunds. According to reports, fans who bought tickets through Ticketmaster or by phone will automatically receive a refund. Those who bought tickets in person will receive their refund at the point of purchase.

The group’s tour was among the current Top 20 grossing tours, according to the AP and trade publication Pollstar.

The band, Def Leppard was formed in 1971 and it became one of the top-selling rock bands throughout the 1980s, selling over 65 million albums worldwide, which included over 35 million in the United States alone. Def Leppard are also ranked #31 on VH1’s “Greatest Artists of Hard Rock”.

Their foot tapping numbers include”Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Rock of Ages,” “Love Bites” and “Photograph”. The present members of the band are Rick Savage, Joe Elliott, Rick Allen, Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell.
