chimp June 24, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The anniversary of the bereavement of the pop superstar, Michael Jackson, will be on Friday this week. Meanwhile, his elder sister, La Toya Jackson, has had a poignant get-together with Bubbles. Bubbles is a chimpanzee, who was the pet of Michael Jackson when he was alive.

La Toya had an encounter with Bubbles as a component of a documentary on Animal Planet. As she was journeying to interact with Bubbles at his Florida safe haven, La Toya professed that she was absolutely energized at the prospect of meeting Bubbles.

La Toya asserted that she had not observed Bubbles for nearly 20 years. Regrettably, Bubbles did not depict the fervor that was exhibited by La Toya. Emotions in Bubbles on observing La Toya, if any existed, were inconspicuous. Bubbles continued to stare at La Toya indifferently from behind the cage.

54-year-old La Toya warmheartedly remembered about the manner in which Bubbles used to consume food with them at the table. She also reminisced about the way in which Bubbles used to stroll to the refrigerator and wolf his preferred dish, which was the ice-cream of Haagen-Dazs.

She scrubbed down Bubbles with water. La Toya stated that, when Michael Jackson was alive, Bubbles led a privileged lifestyle. He had his own bathroom and used to bathe frequently. La Toya was in tears on some occasions while interacting with Bubbles.

Michael Jackson had taken up Bubbles from a research facility in Texas in the 1980s. Bubbles used to nap in a crib in Jackson’s bedroom and wolfed numerous sweets in Jackson’s Neverland movie theater. Jackson was so attached to the ape that he took the ape with him to countless destinations. Jackson even took Bubbles with him to Japan when Jackson had to interact with a Japanese mayor in the afternoon while sipping tea.

Nonetheless, this luxuriousness in the life of Bubbles ended in 2003. Bubbles had become exceedingly belligerent and physically immense by then. Michael Jackson began to find it extremely stressful to cope with Bubbles.

In 2003, Bubbles was hauled off to a mammalian haven in California. There, Bubbles experienced utter melancholy, so much so that he purportedly endeavored to commit suicide. When the Californian haven shut down in 2004, Bubbles was transported to his present residence. This happens to be the Center for Great Apes at Wauchula in Florida.
