June 19, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Phil Harris was an American part proprietor and captain of the crab fishing boat, Cornelia Marie, which is displayed on the Discovery Channel reality TV series, Deadliest Catch. Phil Harris was the victim of a stroke while divesting crab in port at Saint Paul Island in Alaska on January 29, 2010. He passed away on February 9 this year.

Now, a tribute will come to the dearly loved captain, Phil Harris, who starred in the successful series, Deadliest Catch. The tribute is geared up to have a goodbye wave of shows telecast in his honor. This has been announced by Discovery Channel.

Commencing on June 22, the tribute will be initiated with the transmission of the show in which the 54-year-old Captain Phil Harris underwent a stroke that was an indicator of the termination of his life.

Phil Harris was immensely liked by the watchers of the show. The show dealt with the difficulties and dilemmas that a professional fisherman has to undergo. The show, after his demise, has continued without him. However, his rasping personage is being enormously missed.

Discovery Channel president, Clark Bunting, discharged a proclamation that Captain Phil Harris was an affectionate father, fisherman, hilarious person and a loyal ally for his admirers globally. This goodbye wave of shows is meant to commemorate his vibrant life and all those people, whose hearts he has befriended via ‘Deadliest Catch’.

His sons, Josh and Jake Harris, who happened to be the deckhands on the boat, praised their father’s dynamism and stated that he was a warrior till the completion of his life. The crew and his sons will never forget that energy of their father and will utilize it to inspire them in their future endeavors.
