Daytime Emmy Nominees Announced

emmy208New York, May 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 37th Daytime Emmy Nominations being announced and American Drama “General Hospital” is leading the list all the way from the top. Reportedly, “General Hospitals” has received a total of 18 nominations including the “Best Day time Drama” along with “The Young and the Restless”, “All My Children” and “The Bold And The Beautiful”. It’s surprising to witness children drama series “Sesame Street” making it to the list with 14 nominations.

For the “Best Talk Show” Award we have “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” with 8 nominations. One of the most popular shows of all time “The Oprah Winfrey Show ” only managed to bag 4 nominations. Following the two toppers in the list are “The Bonnie Hunt Show” along with “Live with Regis & Kelly”. Both the shows managed to clinch a total of three nominations. Daytime Emmy Nominations 2010 shall also witness “The Lifetime Achievement Award” being handed over to Agnes Nixon who happens to the brain behind soap operas like “One Life to Live” and “All My Children,” which have graced the American Television for over a span of 40 long years.

In the “Outstanding Lead Actress” category we have Michelle Stafford (The Young and the Restless) along with Crystal Chapell for “Guiding Light,” Sarah Brown for “General Hospital” and Bobbie Eakes for “All My Children”. “The Young and the Restless” star Doug Davidson and Peter Bergman leads the list of nominations for the “Best Actor” followed by Michael Park and Jon Lindstrom from “As The World Turns”. In the category of “Outstanding Talk Show” (Informative) we have shows like “Dr. Phil”, “The Doctors” and “The Dr. Oz Show”. “Good Morning America,” “CNN American Morning” and “The Today Show” finds its way under the “Outstanding Morning Program” category. CBS shall air The Daytime Emmy Awards on June 27.
