Daytime Emmy Awards 2011 were hosted by Wayne Brady
June 20th, 2011 - 8:11 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, June 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Daytime Emmy Awards were held in Los Angeles on Sunday. There was a tie during the awards when The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless were both honored with the Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team.
Last night’s show was the 38th edition of the awards and a host of celebrities were present to grace the occasion. The awards have been used over the years to honor and recognize daytime television shows including talk shows, soap operas, television games and others. For the third year in a row, The Bold and the Beautiful was named as the best drama series.
The show was hosted by Wayne Brady and Oprah Winfrey was giving a special honor for her contribution to daytime television and talk show. Ellen DeGeneres Show was given the entertainment best talk show award. This is the second year in a row that the show has picked up the award.
Cash Cab host Ben Balley picked up the award for best game host and the best talk show host award went to Oz Mehmet of Dr. Oz and Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa of The Regis and Kelly Show.
