London, Aug 2 (ANI): British comedian David Walliams has decided to take the leap into the glamorous world of Hollywood.

According to the News of the World, Walliams of the Little Britain fame will now act in a Hollywood flick about a dog.

Walliams, 37, has bagged a multi-million-dollar lead role in Marmaduke - a film that is not only much awaited but is also being seen as the next Beethoven.

The star will play the role of a dog trainer named Anton.

Talking about the movie, Walliams said: “I am absolutely thrilled. The script is hilarious - I shoot it over the summer.”

The film is based on the classic comic strip of the same name, which is about a naughty Great Dane and the Winslow family.

The film is being made by the 20th Century Fox and they hope there will be sequels to the movie as well.

A source said: “This is a huge opportunity for David to show the world what he can do. Hugh Laurie became a superstar after being in the Stuart Little films…….David could do the same.” (ANI)
