Sep 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Saturday Night Live” was back in the small screen with its 36th season, on Sep 25. The only surprise that came up amidst the “not so interesting jokes” was the sudden appearance of David Paterson in the sets of the show. The show started with anchor Amy Poehler hosting and Katy Perry singing. But in the middle of a skit, by Fred Armisen, who was mocking the New York governor, David Paterson, the latter suddenly landed in the sets to steal the show.
The governor was offended with Fred Armisen’s attitude and called it “sophomoric and stupid”, as his jokes were not for the sake of humor, but for the sake of degrading people with disabilities. David Paterson was more annoyed as all of Fred Armisen’s jokes not only mocks the visual disability of the governor in bad taste, but also makes fun of all those people who are visually challenged. According to David Paterson, watching “Saturday Night Live” and being in the Albany is almost the same, with the involvement of a lot of characters. The only difference is that, “Saturday Night Live” is funny for ten minutes and after that people want it to get over.
David Paterson, who was sitting on a chair beside Fred Armisen, for ten minutes, did a very good job by by the end of the show, when Amy Poehler said sorry for offending the governor. David Paterson, reacted another good satire by saying that the show made so much fun of her being a blind that he almost forgot that he was also a black. The sudden and the surprise appearance of David Patterson in the show, probably made it all more popular with the Saturday night controversy.
