David Mills dies at age 48
April 1st, 2010 - 1:22 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew Orleans, Mar 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Emmy Award winner David Mills suddenly collapsed on Tuesday on the set of the HBO’s show “Treme”. He was rushed to a hospital, where he ultimately breathed his last. The hospital authorities said that he died an untimely due to a brain aneurysm.
He was working as a scriptwriter for the new HBO show ‘Treme’ which would be telecast on the 11th of April. HBO released a statement about his sudden demise that, “HBO is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our dear friend and colleague David Mills. He was a gracious and humble man, and will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him, as well as those who were aware of his immense talent. David has left us too soon but his brilliant work will live on.”
He was also very passionate about music, and even had a blog dedicated to music at www.undercoverblackman.blogspot.com
He has also written for the ‘ER’, “Homicide: Life on the Street”, HBO’s “The Corner” and for NYPD Blue also. Prior to becoming a TV scriptwriter, he was a journalist and he is still well known for a 1992 interview in which he had interviewed the hip-hop performer Sister Souljah.
