letterman1Oct 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Following the declaration of his exuberant sexual dalliance with members of his crew and therefore being the victim of an attempted extortion plot last week, David Letterman has remained to the most highlighted news all over the weekend. After his admittance of the controversial conduct in front of an immensely shocked viewers, Letterman did the most telling thing that he could in order to salvage the harm that might already being done to his career. He came out and apologized to his wife, Regina Letterman, publicly, on Monday.

However, his apology should not be disguised solely as an attempt at retrieving his career for it is too strongly built upon the fan base, to be actually shaken by a wind of sex scandal. He seemed genuinely distressed and the sympathetic audience at the studio looked every bit as supportive of him as they have been all through his stint at the late night talk show.

The CBS network aired the promos of the episode that featured Letterman’s apology to his wife extensively over the weekend but chose to omit the exact portion where he actually said mouthed the words itself. All the suspense was put to rest on Monday night, when he was shown to say, “When something happens like that, if you hurt a person and it’s your responsibility, you try to fix it. And at that point, there’s only two things that can happen: either you’re going to make some progress and get it fixed, or you’re going to fall short and perhaps not get it fixed.”
