David Hasselhoff fancied ‘Xena: Warrior Princess’ star Lucy Lawless
January 9th, 2011 - 4:19 pm ICT by ANIWellington, Jan 9 (ANI): David Hasselhoff has revealed how he once tried to chat up Kiwi actress Lucy Lawless, the sexy star of ‘Xena: Warrior Princess’.
“I chased Lucy Lawless one night and she said, ‘I waited tables on you 10 years ago’. I laughed my butt off, because now she’s a big star,” Stuff.co.nz quoted the former Baywatch cult hero as telling Sunday News.
“I knew she was from New Zealand and God, she looks pretty in person,” he said.
Lawless was a teenage part-time waitress in Parnell, Auckland, when Hasselhoff - then the star of the hit TV show Knight Rider - visited New Zealand in 1986.
When the pair next met, in America during the mid-90s, he was headlining ‘Baywatch and she was named one of the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” by People magazine after steaming up the small screen as Xena. (ANI)
